Why isn't my cockatiel sitting on her egg?

she probaly is, but she may lay one or two more. she might not be sitting on it because you threw away a fertile egg so now she doesn't want to get attached to it, because she thinks that you will throw it away. but the dad wants to protect it because she wont.
